Cushioning surfaces and finished floors are an integral part of designing playground spaces. Contemporary principles of landscape architecture lend to the creation of durable, long-lasting and low-maintenance outdoor facilities. The Jambette borders fall right into this modern trend of developing green spaces; not only do they keep loose materials like cedar fibre in place, but they also prevent contamination with the surrounding soil. From a visual impact perspective, playground users can enjoy a smartly designed, safe and inviting play area.
Although it may look like an ordinary rectangular piece laid on the ground, the Jambette border made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) has a few special features likely to be of great interest to any landscape designer that make it more effective than conventional wooden edging.
First of all, there are cavities on both sides that provide a stronger grip on the ground and limit movement over the seasons due to freezing and thawing.
Also: the solid single shell design of the borders features openings for inserting S-2389 anchoring rods, which have two functions: to connect the borders to each other and anchor rows of them underground.
Not only are they rot-proof, but Jambette borders are also maintenance-free and easy to replace in case of damage caused, for example, by the use of outdoor maintenance machinery.
